And if your cake is special and decorated with originally decorated or made according to unusual recipe, you can easily say that your wedding celebration is a success.

Many interesting facts are associated with cakes, especially with wedding cakes. Lots of interesting things can be told about cakes. Wedding ritual tradition that tells us about bride, groom and wedding cake cutting is more than 5 thousand years old. Grand great-grandfather of modern cake is wedding bread, it can be strange, but it’s a well-known fact. In the times of Rome Empire according existing traditions the bread was to be broken apart above bride’s head. Groom did that and gave out pieces of this bread to the guests to share his luck and happiness with his friends and relatives.
In England in the middle ages wedding cake wasn’t a cake at all. As a rule a heap of small sweet muffins was made in front of couple and they had to kiss above this heap, it was a symbol of happy life.
Wedding bread existed almost in any culture. Today every one has wedding cake on bridal feast but it’s more due to tradition, due to fashion and it’s rarely connected with ancient rituals. Wedding cakes are more like work of art that combines imagination and talent of confectioners.
There are some interesting facts about cakes. In 2006 the most expensive diamond wedding cake ever was unveiled in Beverly Hills at the Luxury Brands Bridal Show on Rodeo Drive. It was created by Mimi So Jewellers and cake designer Nahid La Patisserie Artistique. The design of the cake was for this bridal show and of course is not edible and costs 20 million dollars. There isn’t a lot of people can afford this diamond cake which is definitely the dream of every woman to have it during her wedding.

It was nine feet high and five-and-a-half feet wide, made with half a ton of mixed fruit, 20 KGs of marzipan, almost 3,000 eggs and with 20 bottles of Rum, this delicious master piece took 3 months in the making. Sprinkled with 3,000 Swarovski diamonds, the cake will certainly add sparkle to the wedding. It is Britain's largest and most expensive wedding cake!
